1) Ever since I came up with offering this service I wanted to donate all the earnings to animal shelter here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. At first this business would be ran by me but after a couple years I would like to automatize the business as much as I can. The only way to automatize this business is to acquire machines that engrave tags, the customer puts the info into the computer screen, swipes their debit/credit card, and in a couple seconds they'll have their pet's id tag, you can find this machines at Walmart's or Pet Smarts stores. After I have established that business and covered all my costs I would like to donate the entire business to the largest animal shelter here in Santa Cruz.
2) I have selected this exit strategy because my idea was always to help animals and by donating the business to a animal shelter I know that all the profit will be used towards animal care. Also, I always wanted to offer my help other people be able to help animals, and by donating my business to a non-profit organization I will be doing that.
3) I always knew this was the exit strategy I was going to take, and this affected my decision in a good way. At every point I wanted to make the business as profitable as possible so after I donated it, the animal shelter will have more revenue to help animals with.

What an awesome way to use this great idea. Issues like this are so overlooked and are blamed on other things too many times. I feel as though you have and excellent opportunity here and no I do not believe it would be terribly profitable but it is more about the cause as opposed to the money that could be made and the shelter would also be able to recognize it. The government should get involved by sending tax-breaks to places that keep one of these machines therefore ensuring the business supports the cause and not money.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicolas,
ReplyDeleteI love your exit strategy! It is so smart and really goes full circle on what your business venture provides. At the beginning you were trying to help strays and at the end you will not only help strays get off the street but support those wonderful animal shelters that take in these strays. I think your strategy to donate the funds makes perfect sense. Great job!
