So I am continuing my idea of implementing pet tags that you can purchase at a convenient price and at convenient locations throughout Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I decided to call the business UTAG.
I think you have a really great and important idea going here! Here in the US, many people have dog tags on their pets and you think they are easy to come by. However, while I haven't been to Bolivia, I have been to Costa Rica and they have the same problem. When I am down there, there are stray pets running around everywhere, and almost all of them don't have any identification tags. It's sad because you know many of them used to have homes and can't get back to their owners. I think your idea is something simple that could be started in Bolivia and something that would be really helpful in getting more pets back to their homes when they get lost. Good job!
Hey Nicolas, I think your idea is great. I know that I have never thought about the fact that people in other countries may have a hard time accessing somewhere to make dog tags. I have never personally been somewhere where there is a big stray dog problem, but i do know it is an issue. I think is a great idea that could grow into a big part of other counties. These dogs probably all have families and its sad that the owners don't even have access to something as simple as a dog name tag.
Hi Nicolas. That is a shame there are so many stray dogs in Santa Cruz and other areas of Bolivia. It is certainly a worthy undertaking to get pet tags for them all, but I am wondering what the underlying cause of so many strays really is. Your customers are those that do care about their animals and giving them a simple and convenient way to prevent their dog from being lost is great. Pryor recommended doing the pitch standing up, not at your desk, so you might want to try that next time. Good job and good luck.
Hi Nicolas - it is crazy to think that it is so hard to have access to name tags for your household pets. Your idea sounds great. I especially like the name. Obviously strays are a huge issue in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and something so simple can be done to fix it. It would be awesome if your idea can actually become real so you can help all those animals.
